may be sufficient for the better support of you our Governor
or our Governor in Chiet for the time being and for defraying
the necessary Charges of the Government.
You are to permit the Lord Baltemore by his Agents or
Officers appointed by him to collect and receive the other
moiety of the said impost of two shillings per Hogshead
together with the Duty of 14d per Tun upon shipping trading
to Maryland for his own use as Proprietary of our said Prov-
ince. And you are not in any wise yourself or any other by
your Order to intermedle with the said Moiety of the said
impost of two shillings per Hogshead or the said duty of four-
teen pence per Tun. But to permit the same to be collected
and received by the Lord Baltimore or his Agents as afore-
said without any hindrance or molestation whatsoever.
You are from time to time to permit the Assembly to view
and examine the Accompt of mony or value of mony disposed
of, by vertue of such Laws as are now in force or shall be
passed by them which you to signify unto them as occasion
shall serve. Our express will and Pleasure is, that all Laws
whatsoever for the good Government and support of your
said Province, be made indefinite and without Limitation of
time except the same be for a temporary end and which shall
expire and have its full effect within a certain time. And
therefore you shall not enact any Law which shall be once
enacted by You except upon very urgent occasions, but in no
Case more than once without Our express consent.
You shall not remit any Fines or Forfeitures whatsoever
above the summe of Ten pounds before or after sentence
given, nor dispose of any Escheats Fines or Forfeitures untill
you upon signifying unto our Committee of Trade and Plan-
tations And to the Commissioners of our Treasury for the time
being the nature of the offence or occasion of such Fines,
Forfeitures or Escheats with the particular summes you shall
have received our directions therein. But you may in the
mean time suspend the Payment of the said Fines and For-
feitures.
You shall not permit any Act or Order to pass within our
said Province whereby the Price or value of currant mony
within your Government may be altered without our par-
ticular leave or Direction therein. And you are particularly
not to pass any Law or do any Act by grant settlement or
otherwise, whereby Our Revenue may be lessened or impaired
without our especiall leave or commands therein. You are
to require the secretary of our Province or his Deputy for the

time being to provide Transcripts of all such Acts and publick

Orders as shall be made from time to time, together with a
copy of the Iournall of the Councill to the end the same may
