Provll Court Commission vizt

To Nehemiah Blakiston Esqre and Coll Henry Jowles Greet-
ing Whereas by the present Generall Convention of this
Province you the said Nehemiah Blakiston and Henry Jowles
and the Severall persons within named are constituted assigned
and appointed to be Iustices of their Majties Provll Court of this
Province, as well for the tryall and condemnation or acquittall
of the murderers of Mr Iohn Paine, as for the heareing hold-
ing and determining the pleas within mentioned; BE it there-
fore knowne that full power and Authority is given unto you
(you the said Nehemiah Blakiston having first taken the usual
Oath of Chiefe Iustice of the said Court upon the holy Evan-
gelist, which Oath the said Coll Henry Jowles is hereby
authorised and empowered to Administer and you the said
Nehemiah Blakiston having read and taken the said Oath as
hereby Authorised and Impowered to Administer the like
Oath of Iustice of the said Court to him the said Henry
Jowles; which being done and performed) to call and cause
to come before you the other persons in the Commission nomi-
nated and appointed to be Iustices of the said Court and
duely and truly to administer unto them and every of them
jointly or severally the said Oaths of Iustice of the said Court
they also takeing the same upon the holy Evangelists which
when done you are under your hands and seale to certify your
whole proceedings unto the sd Generall Covention of this
Province without delay together with the Summ & Substance
of this precept Given at the City of St Maries the 21st day
of Aprill in the third yeare of their Majties Reign &c Anno
Domini 1691.
