and Poole of, which he being in noe wise able to doe, but the
said Brown made it appear before their honrs that neither him-
self nor any of the Comissrs of Sum: County Court shewed the
least disrespect or contempt to the Letter writt in the favour
of the said Ellis by the honble Coll. Henry Darnall, Coll: Digges,
Maj: Sewall and Mr Hill to the said Comissrs but only civily
desired him the said Ellis to stay for his answer to said Lre
untill more of the Comissrs came together (being then but four

in number) whereas the said Ellis in a haughty
manner depted the Court, whereupon their honors
freed & cleared the said Capt Brown together with

the said Comissrs and alsoe Poole the Attorney from any con-
tempt by them against the Gentlemen aforesaid comitted and

to ask pdon
or be whipt.

thereupon discharged them from any further at-
tendance about this matter and ordered that the
said Ellis for his false Information agat the Comissrs
|
Publickly in the Provinciall Court ask them pardon therefore,
and upon his refusall thereof to be comitted to the Custody of
the Sheriff of St Maryes County and by him to be whipt.
