accordingly yet it has so hapened that notwithstanding the
like Orders delivered to your Lordship, their Majesties have

not as can be yett understood been proclaimed in Maryland
for preventing therefore of inconveniences that may otherwise
happen their Lordships expect that you send unto them a
duplicate of the Orders your Lordship has lately sent to those
parts for that purpose. Their Lordships intending forthwith
to dispatch a messenger with them to Maryland the expence
of whose voyage the Committee think fitt that your Lordship
take care to discharge

On the 12th of September the following letter is also sent to
my Lord Baltemore for his answer to the Letter of the 31st
August.

Whitehall 12th Sept. 1689.
My Lord,
The Lords of the Committee of Plantations order me to
acquaint your Lordship that the Committee will meet to mor-
row morning at 10 a clock when their Lordships will expect
your answer to my Letter of the 31st of the last month.
I am etc.

Whereupon my Lord Baltemore attending the Committee
on the 13th of September 1689 presents to their Lordships the
duplicate of the Order he had sent for proclaiming their
Majesties in Maryland with copies of their Lordships letter,
the form of the Proclaimation and the Oathes to be taken
instead of the Oathes of Allegiance and supremacy which
their Lordships order to be sent you by a special messenger
to Maryland the moyety of whose charges is to be borne by
my Lord Baltemore
The Duplicate of my Lord Baltemore's Orders for proclaim-
ing their Majesties is a follows

Gentlemen,
I received the enclosed from the Lords of the Committee
for Trade and Plantations with their Order for the proclaim-
ing of their Majesties King William & Queen Mary in Mary-
land the wich you are to see duely performed with the cere-
monies usuall on such occasions, according to the directions
of the inclosed to which you are to have due respect and pay
a ready Obedience, which is the Order of
Your Friend
