Assembly Proceedings, OctoberNovember 1682. 415

Generall ordered to Acquaint the Messenger therewith who
goes out & returnes saying he has performed the order of the
house—
Ensuing Message be sent to the Vpper
Clement Hill as followeth Vizt

ney Generall acquaint the Vpper
in opinion with the Vpper
ceived by this house about Jacob
to proceed to Impeach-
accordingly proceeded to
said Impeachment but being
give Coursey who is the principall evidence
again goeing away from the Assembly
to Order Coll Coursey to stey
against the said Jacob Young or else
impeachment will be much lessened
therevpon will be much impeded
if as for any prosecucon against the said
Jacob Signed p ordr Tho: Grunwin

Then it was dered that the Attorney Generall Mr
Robert Carvile & Mr Rouseby be the persons to draw
vp the Impeachment against Jacob Young They goe out
accordingly And carry with them the Affidavitts of John
Higdon and Mr Joshua Doyne which were as followeth—

John Higdon aged about 25 yeares maketh oath That he
this Deponent since the time of the Imprisonment of the said
Jacob did here the said Jacob young give out in speeches that
he the sd Jacob Young would be Revenged of those that put the
Irons on him and make them pay for the same or words to that
effect he often declared—

Joshua Doyne now sheriffe of St Maries County maketh
Oath That he the Deponent since the time of the Imprisonm'
of the said Jacob having discourse with the said Jacob of &
concerning the piscattowayes & susquehannoh Indians in
Relacon to his Lorpps people of this province the said Jacob in
severall discourses did declare to this Deponent That the sus-
