The 8th of January 1648: Know all men by these presents Liber B. that We, Thomas Gerrard Esq and Walter Brodhurst, doe No. 1 acquitt and discharge William Empson from a Condition that he the Said William Empson was bound to We the Said, Thomas Gerrard and Walter Brodhurst to look to hoggs untill Christmass last past, We the Said Thomas Gerrard Esq and Walter Brodhurst doe acquitt and free him from that Said Condition and all other whatsoever, And withall I the Said Thomas Gerrard doe acquitt and discharge him from all debts, and demands whatsoever from the beginning of the world untill this present day, Wittness our hands the day and year above Written Thomas Gerrard Walter Brodhurst
