432 Court and Testamentary Business, 1648.
Liber A. Walter waterlin demandeth of Jno Thimbleby admistrator of Peter Makarells estate 300 l Tob: & cask dew by Bill.
Walter Beane demandeth of Walter Coterill an Anker of drams or satisfaction therfore to the valew of 300 l Tob. & cask. warrt to the Sheriffe ret Decembr Court.
Humphrey Howell demandeth of Anthony Rawlins 340 l Tob. & cask being the price of a gun, wth the sd Humphrey payd to the Anthony wch sd gun was taken from the sd Humphrey he consenting thereunto wch attatchmt by the Sheriffe & de liuered to Wm Smoote, who made just claime thereof. where uppon the sd Humphrey humbly requyreth tht the price of the sd gun may be againe repayd him, by the sd Anthony. warrt to the Sheriffe ret Decembr Court.
Willm Smoote deposed, sayth That hee sold to Geoffrey Power of Virginia a Pin nace (sometime the last winter) And tht the Geoffrey finding fault wth the leakines thereof, after he had bought the same. Hee this Dept profered the sd Geoffrey to take her againe. But the sd Geoffrey would not forgoe his former bargaine. Whereuppon att the passing Bill for the paymt thereof unto this Dept This Dept told the sd Geoffrey, tht the Bill being payable in Virginia this Dept made doubt, touching the recouery or paymt thereof, because he could not be there in prson to demand the same. To wch the sd Geoffrey made answere, & willed this Dept to assigne the Bill to whom soeur he should please, & he would satisfy it. Jurat Coram Gour Willm Smoote Copie to Robt Kedger.
40 Nouembr Anthony Rawlins Petth tht his Bill of 475 l Tob & cask wch he passed to Jno Sturman for a heighfer (wch sd heighfer is taken out of his possesn by auth. of this Court) may not be pleadable, unlesse he may be assured of his bargaine. Ordered according to the Pete
p. 199 Robt Sharpe (att the request of Rich: Bennett) sayth upon his oath, That Gour Caluert & his company spent of Rich: Bennetts Corne about 4 barrells, during their uoyagc for the reducing of Mary-Land. And further tht the sd Bennett killed an year ling for the foresd uoyage & company, & some poultry of his allso; but what quantity of eyther Beife or poultry was spent during the sd uoyage, by the sd company, he knoweth not. And further he sayth, tht hee saw the sd Bennett deliur some 5hott, to some one of the Company, for the sd Mr Calurts use,
