        p. 62    After my hearty commendaons &c.

                     whereas there is a complaint exhibited agst you into the

                   Court by Randoll Revell I have thought good to give you

                   notice thereof rather by these my private lres then by awarding

                   his Lops ordinary processe, therefore these are to pray you to

                   putt in yor answere in forme of law to the said complaint (wch I

                   have herewth sent vrito you) at or before Monday next ensuing

                   & to be pnt at the Court by nine of the clock in the morning

                   of the same day to meinteine and abide the trial1 of your said

                   answere of the which nothing doubting but that you will have

                   the care and regard wch apperteineth I bid you farewell; from

                   St maries this 1. may 1638

                     This day came John Medley and Robt Nicholls planters and

                   acknowledge themselves to owe vnto Leonard Calvert Esq and

                   his assignes &c six hundred pound weight of good merchant

                   able tobacco to be paid at the first season of striking tobacco

                   the next cropp: And if they shall not so doe then they and

                   either of them for himselfe his heires exequutors and admrators

                   willeth and granteth that the said somme of six hundred weight

                   of tobacco be levied vpon the lands goods and chattells of them

                   and either of them, wheresoever they shalbe found.
