As to th^t other proposition Concerning the uniting of those
Two ffamilies, the Leiut^t Grall would say nothing att p^rnt.
There being time enough, before eyther of them bee of mature
age, to discusse that Busines.
To all the rest concerning Nattowasso now called Wahocasso
the Leiut^t Grall gaue his assent thereto. And hee was accepted
of, & acknowledged as Empero^r After w^ch some few Jndian
Ceremonies passed. And then the Leiut^t Grall, and the English

Whereas J am gyuen to understand that some Demurr is
made Concerning yo^r officiating the Office of Sheriffe untill
yo^w haue taken yo^r Oath in yo^r County Court, & gyuen Secu-
rity, as in yo^r Commis" is prouided for. And whereas the
Commis^rs of yo^r County doe not intend to hold Court in yo^r
County untill the Eighth or Tenth day of July next, before
w^ch time the List of Taxeable p^rsons must be returned, (accord-
ing to a speciall war^t to yo^w directed for that purpose.
These are therefore in the name of th^t R^t hon^ble the Lord
Proprietary of this Prouince to will & requyre & likewise to
impower yo^w ffrancis Pope That forthw^th uppon sight hereof,

yo^r warne & Conuene together att a Certaine day to bee by
yo^w appoynted M^r Henry Adams, M^r Thomas Mathews M^r
Raph Beane & M^r Will^m Marshall together w^th the Clark of
yo^r County Court; And th^t before them yo^w take yo^r Oath,
belonging to sheriffe, as is to yo^r Commisⁿ affixed, & giue
Bond likewise as is prescribed by act of Assembly in th^t
behalfe. And th^t thereuppon yo^w doe all things belonging to
yo^r Office of sheriffe w^thout further delay. Lastly that yo^w
cause the Clarke of yo^r County Court to send downe to the
Leiut^t Grall & Councell w^th what speed hee may, his Certificate
of the proceedings herein. Gyuen under my hand this ffowrth
day of June 1663.
