In November 2005, the Cecil County Board of County Commissioners appointed the Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) Action Plan Committee to address the impacts of BRAC changes at Aberdeen Proving Ground. The Committee submitted its Action Plan to the Board of County Commissioners on July 20, 2007.

CHARTER REVIEW COMMISSION

After publication of each federal decennial census, County Charter requires that County Council appoint a Charter Review Commission. Commission makes a comprehensive study of County government, updates its Charter where necessary, and may recommend revisions to Councilmanic election districts at that time (County Charter, Art. 6, sec. 604).

Last met in April 2023.
