    1608, June.
    Capt. John Smith explored Patapsco River.

    1661, Feb. 24. First land patent in Baltimore vicinity granted to Charles Gorsuch, for 50 acres at Whetstone Point (now Locust Point).

    1661, June 15. David Jones commissioned survey of 380 acres along stream (now Jones Falls) that emptied into Patapsco River.
