Maroy elected Secretary. A special meeting of the State Roads Commisaion was held at its offices in the Union Trust Building, Baltimore, Md, , this Wednesday, June 5th, 1912, at 9 A. M. Present: Chairman Weller, Dr. Heine en, Dr. Clark, Messrs* Ramsay and Goslin, The minutes of the meeting of the Commission held May 29th, 1912, were read and approved. Dr. Clark offered the following: "RESOLVED thai Isaac Lobe Straus be employed as special attorney to represent this Commission in the judicial determination of its olalxn against the United Hallways & Blectrio Company, with instructions to institute and prosecute such suit or suits as to hie and the general counsel of this Body may seem appropriate, and that he be paid a retainer of $500., and that no further or other compensation be paid to him except in the event of final recovery against the United Railways and Sleotric Company, in which event he shall be paid such additional sum, not to exceed $2000. GB to the Commission may seem proper. The resolution was seconded by Dr. Remsen, and carried. Dr. Clark moved thtt the Counsel, Mr. Greenbauo, be instructed to take up with the officers of the Washington, Spa Spring & Gretta Railway Company the matter in dispute regarding their tracks, and to report to the Commission at the earliest practicable moment. The motion was seconded by Dr. Remsen, and adopted. Dr. Remsen moved that the following resolution be adopted: "RSSOLTSD that 0. 3. Weller, Chairman of the State Roads Commission, be, and he Is hereby authorized and directed to request the Board of Public Works of Maryland, to cause to be issued, as promptly as possible. One Million Dollars ($1,000,000.00) of State Road Bonds, under the provisions of Chapter 370 of the Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland of 1912, and that he cause a copy of this resolution to be filed with his request as Chairman with the Comptroller of the Treasury of Maryland, this being the second $1,000,000*00 of said bonds so authorized, the first $1,000,000.00 having been authorized by a similar resolution of this Board passed on April 22, 1912." The motion was seconded by Mr. Ramsay, and adopted. Mr. Goslin moved that Mr. William L. Maroy of Annapolis, be elected Secretary of the Commission, to take effect from June 11, 1918, at the salary of $1800*, per annum, as fixed by law. The motion was seconded by Mr. Ramsay, and adopted.
