Page 265. Baltimore, Ttd., December 13th, 1910. Fortieth Meeting. Present. Minutes not read. Hagerstown & Cleartpring Railway on Hat1.Pike referred to Counsel & ingr, Contractors to oease work. Inspectors to be laid off. Contractors on bridges over Perch and .uong Creeks to proceed with work on same. Continuation of work on Contract #o230. Warrant on Comptroller for purchase price of Fredk., Booneboro & Conooocheague Turnpikes. A Special Tweeting of the State Roads commieBion was held at its offices, Union Trust Building, "Baltimore, ?M., this Tuesday, December 13th, 1910, at 10:30 o'clock A. >'. Present: Governor Crothers, Chairman Tucker, T.'esers. Remsen, Clark, and Hutton. The minutes of the previous meeting of the Commission were not read. The Hagerstown & Clearspring Railways Company presented to the "Board an application and permit to construct its railway over the National Pike between the Conococheague Creek and Clear-spring. On motion of "Hr. Remsen, seconded by Governor Crothere, this matter was referred to the Chief Engineer and Counsel of the Corrmission for report. Governor Crothers moved that all contractors and others doing work on roads throughout the State, be notified to cease their work, operations to be resumed only on the order of the State Roads Commission; and that all inspectors whose services are not required at this time, be laid off. The motion was seconded by Dr. Clark, and adopted. Chairrian Tuekar stated that the contractors on the "bridges at Parch Creak and T.ong Creak, (TLkton-Chesapeake City Poad) had coasad work on thase "bridges. Governor Crothars moved that tha contractors he instructed to proceed with the work on the above-named bridges. The motion was saconded by Dr. Remsen, and adopted. l«'r. ?, C. Hut ton requested the Commission to grant him permission to continue work on Contract wo. 0230 in Montgomery County, Governor Crothsrs moved that I/r. Hutton be allowed to procaed with work on Contract $0230, as in his judgment is deemed advisable. The motion was seconded by "nr. Remsen, and adopted. Governor Crothers moved that the Comptroller of the Treasury be request 3d to issue his warrant for $150,000.00, to cover the purchase price of the Frederick, "Boonsborough and Conoco-chaague Pikes. The motion was seconded by "Hr. Clark, and adopted. The Chairman stated there were some differences between the accounts of tho United Railways & "Rlectric company and the state Roada Commission for the months of October and November on the
