Davis, \vho had left the Service of the Commission, be reinstated from February 12th.1909. Dr. Remsen seconded the motion, v/hich was adopted. I'r. Hutton moved that Carroll A. Y/arthen be employed as Instrument-man from May 1st. 1909, at a salary of $50.oo per month. Dr. Kemsen seconded the motion, v.'hich was adopted. Dr. Remsen moved that a survey be made and plant' prepared for two miles of Road in Harford County, running frorr. Kalmia east. The motion v/as seconded by !'r. Kutton, and adopted. Dr. Remsen moved that the matter of the expense for auto hire on the trip to Boston, be referred to the Chairman for final settlement, with power to act. The motion v,-as seconded by Governor Crothers, and adopted. Dr. Remsen moved that a conference be arranged between the State Roads Commission and the representatives of the Baltimore Frederick-town Turnpike Cumpany and the Tioonsboro Turnpike Company, for Monday, May 2-ith.l909, at 10.30 o'clock A.M. Governor Crothers seconded the motion, which was adopted. Governor Crothers brought to the attention of the Co.— ission the fact that the contract with the Chief Engineer expires on May 21, 1909, and suggested that if the Chief Engineer would waive any rights he had in the matter until the Commission met on Monday, May 24th. ,1909, 'when a nev/ contract could be made with him, the matter would go over until Monday. The Chief Engineer stated that it was entirely satisfactory to him, whereupon Dr. Remsen moved that the Chief ^ngineer be continued as such until a written contract can be made with him for a new year. The motion was seconded by Governor Crothers and adopted. The Commission adjourned to meet Monday, L!av^24s, 190JL, at 10.30 A.M. ADJOURNED. > Attest: Chairman.
