'Rr-JA Page 17. Re.- Turnpikes. Mr. Shoemaker substituted for Dr.Clark on Committee for necessary quarters for work-in force. Recess. the turnpikes in the State as to their possible acquirement as a part of the State Roads System. The motion was seconded by Governor Crothers and adopted. Governor Crothers moved that Mr.Shoemaker be substituted for Dr. Clark on the Committee relating to the renting of necessary quarters for the working force of the Commission. The motion was seconded by Mr. Hutton and adopted. Governor Crothers moved that a recess be taken until 11.30 o'clock to-morrow, Wednesday, morning. The motion was seconded by Mr Shoemaker and adopted. Recess. After Recess. AFTER C B S S Chief Engineer authorized to prepare plans and specifications for bids on Caroline Co. Road. John K. McCabe appointed Rodman. T. A. Ward appointed Rodman. Adjourned. Governor Crothers moved that the Chief Engineer be authorized to prepare plans and specifications so that bids can be asked for on the two pieces of road mentioned in Caroline County and heretofore surveyed and mapped out by the Geological Survey Commission. Governor Crothers moved that Mr. John K. McCabe be appointed Instrument Man, at a salary of $50.oo per month; and that Mr. T. A. Ward be appointed Rodman, at a salary of $40.oo per month, and that the Secretary be instructed to notify the gentlemen of their appointments. Mr. Shoemaker seconded the motion and it was adopted. On motion, duly seconded, the Commission adjourned to meet Wednesday, August 19, 1908, at 10 o'clock A.M. Adjourned. Attest: Chairman.
