Page 18, Thirteenth Meeting. Present. Minutes approved. Rescinding motion to delay action on Chester, Wicoraico, Worcester & Somerset Counties. Hearing set for Charles, V Prince George's Anne Arundel Co. Governor to draw warant on Comptroller 1st issue of road bonds. Appointment of W. E. Offutt, J. T. Merritt as Rodmen. Sept 16, 1908, named as date for opening bids for roads in Caroline County. Commission takes over certain roads in Caoline County as State Roads. Survey Party to be sent to Worcester County. A meeting of the State Roads Commission was held on Wednesday, August 19, 1908, at J.O o'clock A.K., at its offices, Union Trust Building, Baltimore, Md., Present: Governor Crothera, Chairman Tucker, Messrs. Shoemaker and Hutton. The minutes of t-^e previous meeting were read, corrected and approved. Mr. Hutton moved, after hearing arguments for and against the tentative routes laid down in Dorchester, Wicomico, Worcester and Somerset Counties, that action on the final location of roads in those counties be postponed until a full meeting of the Commission at which all the members shall be present. Mr. Shoemaker seconded the motion and it wae adopted. On notion, duly seconded, September 2nd.1908, at 10 o'clock A.M., was set as a date for hearing repesentatives from Charles, Anne Arundel and Prince George's Counties before finally determin-ig on the roads to be selected as State Bads in said Counties. Mr. Shoemaker moved that the Governor be authorized to draw his warrant on the Comptroller for the proceeds of the sale of the first issue of the State' Roads bonds. The motion v/ae seconded by Mr. Hutton and adopted. Mr. Shoemaker moved the appointment of Mr John T- Merritt of Anne Arundel County, and Mr William E. Offutt of Montgomery County, as Rodmen, at a salary of $40.oo per month, to be called upon when needed by the Commission. Governor Crothers seconded the motion and it was adopted. Governor Crothers moved that September 16th. 1908, be set as a date for opening bids for the construction of the Road in Caroline County beginning about eight-tenths of a raile south of Geens-boro and running about 1800 feet towards Denton; and the road beginning about one and a half miles north of Federalsburg and running about 5500 feet towards American Corners. The motion was seconded by Mr. Shoemaker and adopted. Mr. Shoemaker moved that the County Commissioners of Caroline County be notified that this Commission takes over as part of the State System the Road from American Corners towards Federals-burg, at a point about three miles from American Corners and running about one and four hundredths miles towards Federalsburg; and the road beginning at the town line of Greensboro and running to-wads Denton about 6100 feet. The motion was seconded by Governor Crothers and adopted. Mr. Shoemaker moved that the Chief Engineer be authorized to send a survey party into Worcester County to survey the road from Berlin to Snow Hill.
