No. 9-A - Sixth Regiment, Infantry, Maryland Volunteers Regimental Color Bearing the State coat of arms in a circle of stars (the number indeterminable) on the obverse and on the reverse the United States coat of arms with thirteen stars above, this regimental color of the Sixth Regiment, Infantry, Maryland Volunteers, probably was presented to the unit upon its organization in September, 1862, and was carried through 1864. Though badly faded, it is believed to have been blue. No. 9-B - Sixth Regiment, Infantry, Maryland Volunteers National Flag Probably presented to the Sixth Regiment, Infantry, at about the time of its organization, this unusual national flag bears the United States coat of arms in the canton of its obverse and the abbreviation "6th Regt. M.V." in a circle of thirty-five stars in the canton of its reverse. No. 9-C - Sixth Regiment, Infantry, Maryland Volunteers Regimental Color This blue regimental color carries the State coat of arms on the obverse and that of the United States with thirteen stars above it on the reverse. It was presented to the Sixth Regiment, Infantry, late in 1864 or early in 1865 by Governor Augustus W. Bradford on behalf of the State. Below the State arms are battle credits for Opequon Creek, Winchester (twice), Spotsylvania, Fisher's Hill and Cedar Creek. No. 9-D - Sixth Regiment, Infantry, Maryland Volunteers National Flag This thirty-five star national flag was presented to the Sixth Regiment, Infantry, late in 1864, or early in 1865, by Governor Augustus W. Bradford on behalf of the State. The Sixth Regiment, Infantry, saw service in Western Maryland, the Valley of Virginia, and the Wilderness Campaign. It was present at Appomattox. From September 1862, until March, 1863, it was a component of the Maryland Brigade. No. 10-A - Seventh Regiment, Infantry, Md. Volunteers National Flag This thirty-five star national flag was presented to the Seventh Regiment, Infantry, Maryland Volunteers, on December 1, 1864, by Governor Augustus W. Bradford on behalf of the State. — 14 —
