(105) Charles County ss.t We the subscribers being Legally Summond and Sworn by the sheriff of said County to appraise and Value the Effects of George Robinson late of said County in Tobacco for the use of M.r Thomas Thompson do Appraise & Value them as followeth Vizt
Robert Gill (ss) Saml Briscoe (ss) Leonard Boarman (ss) Whereupon the said Thomas Thompson by his Attorney afs.d prays Condemnation of the Effects afs.d so as afs.d attached in his hands to one Thousand five Hundred and seventy Pounds of Tobacco to him to be adjudged and the said George altho solemnly Called Comes not but makes default Therefore It is Considered by the Court here That the said Thomas have Condemnation of the Effects afs.d to fifteen hundred & seventy Pounds of Tobacco in his own hands as p schedule by the Court here adjudged according to the form force & effect of the Act of Assembly in those Cases late made & Provided
Be it Remembered that Mess.rs Falkner & Muschett Pursuant to the Directions of the Act of Assembly in those Cases late made & Provided lodged with the Clerk of the Court here the following Bill and Warrant for Attachment Vizt Know all men by these Presents That I James Scott Blacksmith in Charles County Maryland Do Owe unto Mess.rs Falkner & Muschett the sum of Nineteen Pounds Five shillings Currency to be Paid to the said Falkner & Muschett their Ex.rs Adm.rs or Assigns on the first day of October Next Ensuing the date hereof to which Payment well & truly to be made I bind my self my Heirs Ex.rs & Adm.rs in the Penal Sum of Thirty Eight Pounds four shillings & four Pence Currency firmly by these Presents In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and Seal this Third day of September In the year of our Lord one Thousand Seven Hundred and forty six years Seal'd and Delivered Ja.s Scott (ss) In the Presence of us his Edward Peck mark On the 25th day of March 1747 Came M.rs John Muschett before me the subscriber one of his Lordships Justices for Charles County and made Oath on the Holy Evangelists of Almighty God that he Never Received any Part of the within Bill nor any other Person for the use of the within mentioned Company to the best of his Knowledge Sworn Before Robt Hanson Charles County ss.t Whereas it has been made appear to me that James Scott Blacksmith is Indebted unto Mess.rs Falkner Muschett of said County Merchants in the sum of Nineteen Pounds Two shillings & Two Pence Current money as also that the said James is absconded from the Place of his late abode and is run away (These) |
