85 Signed sealed delivered her in presence of Hagar x Boley (seal) D W Tyler mark The state of Maryland Dorchester County to wit: Be it remembered and it is hereby Certified that on this the fifth day of January in the year eighteen hundred and fifty four Personally appeared Hagar Boley the party grantor in the annexed and aforegoing morgage before me the Subscriber one of the Justices of the peace for Said County and acknowledged the Same to be her act and deed and delivered the same for the uses and purposes therein mentioned and therein Contained and on the Same day before me the subscriber the Justice aforesaid personally appeared Emma L. Creighton the mortgagee named in the aforegoing morgage and made oath on the Holy Evangely of Almighty God that the Consideration mentioned in the aforegoing morgage is true and Bona fide as therein set forth Signed sealed acknowledged and sworn before D. W. Tyler William B. Martin Be it remembered and it is hereby Certified that the following Bill of Sale was √ from xd received and recorded on the 10th day of January 1854 to wit: Thos S. Dail & others Know all men by these presents That we William B. Dail John W. Dail Thomas J. Dail Josiah D. Dail and Levin S. Dail administrators of Thomas Dail Decd all of Dorchester County and state of Maryland. For and in Consideration of the Sum of Four Hundred Dollars Current money to us in hand paid by William B. Martin of Talbot County and state of Maryland, have granted bargained and sold and by these presents do grant bargain and sell unto the said William B. Martin his heirs and assigns the following negro that is to say a negro woman named Jane about seventeen years of age to serve until the first day of January Eighteen Hundred and seventy four and then to be free and also her infant child (name unknown) said infant child is a slave for life. To Have and To Hold the said negro woman Jane until the first day of January Eighteen Hundred and seventy four and the said infant child is a Slave for life as above bargained and sold unto the said William B. Martin his heirs executors administrators and assigns against us the said administrators and heirs of Thomas Dail Deceased our heirs executors and administrators and against all and every other person or persons whatsoever shall and will warrant and forever defend In testimony whereof we William B. Dail John W. Dail Thomas J. Dail Josiah D. Dail and Levin S. Dail have hereunto set our hands and affixed seals this the third day of January Eighteen hundred and fifty four Signed sealed and delivered Wm B Dail (seal) in the presence of John W. Martin (seal) State of Maryland Dorchester County to wit: Be it remembered that on the third day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty four, personally appeared before the subscriber a Justice of the peace of the State of Maryland in and for the County aforesaid William B. Dail John W. Dail Thomas J. Dail Josiah D Dail and Levin S. Dail administrators of Thomas Dail deceased and William B. Martin and acknowledged the foregoing Bill of Sale or instrument of writing to be their act and deed according to the intent and meaning thereof and the acts of assembly in Such Cases made and provided and I also further Certify that William B.
