Thomas x Ellis (seal) mark State of Maryland Dorchester County to wit: I hereby Certify that on this 18th day of February 1857 personally appeared before me the subscriber a Justice of the Peace for Dorchester County aforesaid Thomas Ellis Col.d man and acknowledged the above Bill of Sale to be his act. Stewart Be it remembered and it is hereby Certified that the following Bill √ from xd of Sale was received and recorded on the 23.d day of February 1857 to wit James Geoghegan I James Geoghegan of Dorchester County in the State of Maryland for and in Consideration of the sum of One Hundred and fifty Dollars paid me by Levin W. Stewart of the County & State aforesaid do hereby bargain and sell to the said Levin W. Stewart my negro Girl or Woman Mary now living with Francis Linthicum. Witness my hand and seal this 9th Feb 1857 James Geoghegan (seal) State of Maryland Dorchester County to wit: I hereby Certify that on this 9th day Feb 1857 personally appeared before me the subscriber one of the Justices of the Peace in and for the County aforesaid James Geoghegan and acknowledge the foregoing Bill of Sale to be his act Wm R. Tall J. P. Delivered to William H. Grace Sept 29 1858 Martha E. Geoghegan Be it remembered and it is hereby Certified that the following Moses Geoghegan & Others Bill of Sale was received and recorded on the 23.d February 1857 to wit √ from xd I James Geoghegan of Dorchester County in the State of Maryland James Geoghegan in Consideration of the natural affection I have for my children Martha E. Geoghegan Moses Geoghegan James Roe Joseph, Philemon & Harriet Virginia and twenty five Cents paid me by Levin W. Stewart for them of the County and State aforesaid do hereby bargain sell and give unto my said children my negro boy George. Witness my hand and seal this 9th Feb 1857. Recog to James Geoghegan Matthew Bishop Be it remembered and it is hereby certified that the following Bill √ from of Sale was received and recorded on the 23.d day of February 1857 to wit George H Meekins & oths Know all men by these presents that we George H Meekins Robert Meekins and William L Meekins of Dorchester County County and State of Maryland for and in Consideration of the sum of Four Hundred and fifty Dollars Current money to us in hand paid by Matthew Bishop of Dorchester County and State of Maryland have granted bargained and sold and by these presents do grant bargain and sell unto the said Matthew Bishop his heirs and assigns the following negroes Sarah and child purchased by us of Soloman F. Kirwan administrator of Samuel J. Meekins of Dorchester Deliv.d to W.m J. Meekins Ap.l 23d 1857 |
