sold, and delivered in accordance with §§ 8-117 through 8-124 of the State Finance
and Procurement Article and Article 31, § 22 of the Code.

(2)     The bonds to evidence this loan or installments of this loan may be
sold as a single issue or may be consolidated and sold as part of a single issue of bonds
under § 8-122 of the State Finance and Procurement Article.

(3)     The cash proceeds of the sale of the bonds shall be paid to the
Treasurer and first shall be applied to the payment of the expenses of issuing, selling,
and delivering the bonds, unless funds for this purpose are otherwise provided, and
then shall be credited on the books of the Comptroller and expended, on approval by
the Board of Public Works, for the following public purposes, including any applicable
architects' and engineers' fees:

(A)    Academy Art Museum. Provide a grant equal to the lesser of (i)
$300,000 or (ii) the amount of the matching fund provided, to the
Board of Directors of The Academy Art Museum, Inc. for the
planning, design, construction, renovation, and capital
equipping of The Performance Arts Education Center and other
facilities at The Academy Art Museum, located at 106 South
Street in Easton, subject to the requirement that the grantee
grant and convey an historic easement to the Maryland

Historical Trust (Talbot County)...................................................              300,000

(B)    Agricultural and Civic Center. Provide a grant of $25,000 to the
Board of Directors of Somerset County Agricultural and Civic
Center, Inc. for the acquisition and installation of a new furnace
at the Somerset County Agricultural and Civic Center, located
on Crisfield Lane in Princess Anne, subject to the requirement
that they provide a matching fund of $13,000. Notwithstanding
Section 12(5) of this Act, the matching fund may include funds

expended prior to the effective date of this Act (Somerset County).                25,000

(C)    Alice B. Tawes Nursing Home. Provide a grant in the total
principal amount of $500,000 to the Board of Directors of the
McCready Foundation, Inc. for the repair, reconstruction,
renovation, and capital equipping of the Alice B. Tawes Nursing
Home to provide more space for intake of patients suffering from
lung cancer and heart disease, located in Crisfield (Somerset

County) ...........................................................................................              500,000

(D)    American Red Cross. Provide a grant equal to the lesser of (i)
$250,000 or (ii) the amount of the matching fund provided, to the
Board of Directors of the Frederick County Chapter of the
American Red Cross for the acquisition of land and renovation
of the headquarters of the Frederick County Chapter of the
American Red Cross, located in Walkersville, subject to the
requirement that the grantee grant and convey an historic

easement to the Maryland Historical Trust (Frederick County)..              250,000
