Ch. 612                                  . 1995 LAWS OF MARYLAND

(f)     The County Board, in cooperation with other appropriate local units, shall
provide staff for the task force to the extent possible within existing budgeted resources.

(g)     The task force shall issue a final report of its findings and recommendations to
the County Executive, the County Council, the Chamber of Commerce, the County
Board, and, subject" to § 2-1312 of the State Government Article, to the General
Assembly before January 15, 1996.

3-806.

(A) THERE IS A TASK FORCE ON EDUCATION FUNDING IN PRINCE GEORGE'S
COUNTY.

(B) THE TASK FORCE CONSISTS OF 13 MEMBERS APPOINTED BY THE PRINCE
GEORGE'S COUNTY EXECUTIVE AS FOLLOWS;

(1) TWO MEMBERS REPRESENTING THE COUNTY BOARD OF
EDUCATION;

(2) TWO MEMBERS REPRESENTING THE COUNTY COUNCIL;

(3) ONE MEMBER REPRESENTING THE COUNTY OFFICE OF FINANCE;

(4) ONE MEMBER REPRESENTING THE COUNTY OFFICE OF
MANAGEMENT AND BUDGET;

(5) ONE MEMBER OF THE SENATE OF MARYLAND FROM THE PRINCE
GEORGE'S COUNTY DELEGATION;

(6) ONE MEMBER OF THE HOUSE OF DELEGATES FROM THE PRINCE
GEORGE'S COUNTY DELEGATION;

(7) THREE MEMBERS WHO OWN OR OPERATE BUSINESSES IN THE
COUNTY; AND

(8) TWO MEMBERS OF THE GENERAL PUBLIC.

(C) THE TASK FORCE SHALL;

(1) EXPLORE THE FEASIBILITY OF GIVING THE COUNTY BOARD OF
EDUCATION THE AUTHORITY TO IMPOSE TAXES TO SUPPORT THE PUBLIC SCHOOLS
IN THE COUNTY; AND

(2) HOLD AT LEAST ONE PUBLIC HEARING IN EACH SCHOOL BOARD
DISTRICT.

(D) THE COUNTY EXECUTIVE SHALL DESIGNATE THE CHAIRPERSON OF THE
TASK FORCE.

(E) MEMBERS OF THE TASK FORCE SHALL SERVE WITHOUT COMPENSATION.
