181. State of Maryland Be it remembered that the following Bond was recorded Paid from Ex.d on the 17.th day of April 1849, To wit: W.m Elliot & others {Stamp} Know all men by these presents that we William {one dollar} H. Elliott, Hiram W. Woolford and John S. B. Woolford, of Dorchester County in the State of Maryland, are held & firmly bound unto the State of Maryland in the full & just sum of Two thousand dollars, current Money of the United States, to be paid to the said state or its certain Attorney; to the which payment well and truly to be made and done, we bind ourselves, our heirs, executors and Administrators, jointly & severally, firmly by these presents. Sealed with our seals & dated this seventeenth day of April 1849. The Condition of the above Obligation is such that if the above bounden William H. Elliott shall well & truly execute the Office of Constable in Election District number four in Dorchester County, in all things appertaining thereto, and shall well & truly account for all moneys placed in his hands for collection, and shall also well & truly pay all sums of Money received by him on Judgment, or otherwise, then the above Obligation to be void, otherwise of full force & virtue in law. Signed, sealed & delivered in the presence of William H. Elliott (L S) James Hammersly James Busick Hiram W. Woolford (L S) John S. B. Woolford (L S) Dorchester County, To wit: On the 17.th day of April 1849, personally appeared before me, the subscriber, a Justice of the Peace in and for the County aforesaid, James Hammersly and James Busick, and made the following Oath, To wit: "We James Hammersly & James Busick, subscribing witnesses to the above Bond, do make Oath that William H. Elliott, Hiram W. Woolford & John S. B. Woolford, obligors mentioned in the said Bond, did severally, in our presence, sign, seal & deliver the said Bond as their act & deed, for the purposes therein mentioned. Sworn before me on the day above mentioned Whitefield Woolford Moses L. Keene Be it remembered that the following Bill of sale was Ex.d from 50 recorded on the 30.th day of January 1849, To wit: Noah I. Tunis Know all men by these presents that I, Noah I. Tunis of Dorchester County state of Maryland, for and in consideration of the sum of Forty four dollars and thirty five cts to me in hand paid, have granted, bargained and sold unto the said Moses L Keene of said County, the following property, To wit: Viz: one Yoke of Oxen, one Cow & Calf, one Heifer, one Stear yearling, 3 Hogs, three stacks of Fodder, four barrels of Corn, one Canoe, one Plough, two Beds, Bedsteads & furniture, behoof. To have and to hold the said or above mentioned property unto the said Moses L Keene, his heirs and Assigns, to the only proper use & benefit & of said Moses L. Keene |
