151 1849 In presence of William Newton Elizabeth N Roberson (Seal) Maryland Dorchester County Sct. On this 4 day of January 1849 before me the Subscriber a Justice of the Peace for said County appears Elizabeth N Roberson and acknowledges the foregoing Bill of Sale or instrument of Writing to be her act and deed according to the true intent and meaning thereof and according to the Acts of Assembly in said Cases made and provided. William Newton Mary E. Meekins [Stamp] Be it remembered that the following BIll of Sale was recorded Ex.d from 55 [one Dol] on the 25th day of January 1848 To wit George H. Meekins admor of Know all men by these presents that I George H. Meekins of Samuel Meekins of Dorchester County State of Maryland Administrator of Samuel Meekins late of said County decd for and in consideration of the sum of one Hundred and eighty Dollars to me in hand paid by Mary E. Meekins of the County and State aforesaid have granted bargained and sold and by these presents do grant bargain and sell unto the said Mary E. Meekins her heirs and assigns forever a negro girl named Frances To Have and To Hold the above mentioned negro girl Frances unto the said Mary E Meekins her heirs and Assigns to the only proper use and benefit and behoof of the said Mary E Meekins her heirs and Assigns forever. Witness my hand and Seal this eighteenth day of January Eighteen Hundred and forty nine Signed sealed and delivered in the presence of James Smith George H. Meekins Admor of (Seal) Samuel Meekins decd State of Maryland Dorchester County To wit On this 18th day of January in the year 1849 before m the Subscriber a Justice of the peace of the State of Maryland in and for the County aforesaid personally appeared George H. Meekins Administrator of Samuel Meekins deceased and acknowledged the above bill of Sale or instrument of writing to be his act and deed. Also appeared Mary E Meekins and made oath that the consideration set forth in the above bill of sale or instrument of writing is true and bonafide as therein set forth. Acknowledged before and Certified by Samuel Smith Delivered March 5 1849 to G. H. Meekins. William Luttman Be it remembered that the following Bill of Sale was recorded Ex.d from 60 on the 27th day of January 1849 To wit James Mowbray Know all men by these presents that I James Mowbray of Dorchester County and State of Maryland for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred and ninety nine Dollars to him in hand paid by William Luttman of same County and State has granted bargained and sold and by these presents does grant bargain and sell unto the said William Luttman and his heirs and Assigns forever all that vessel Schooner or craft now on the Stocks at Stewarts Creek in the Said County which belongs to the said James Mowbray with all her sails tackling rigging anchor & cable shiff and all the appurtenances belonging to the said Vessel of whatever description as she now Stands To Have and To Hold the said Vessel with all her appurtenances unto the |
