County shall well and faithfully execute his Office and the several duties
required of him by law, and shall well and truly account for and pay to the
Commissioners for Dorchester County, or to their order, the several sums of
money which he shall receive, or be answerable to be void, or else to be
and remain in full force and virtue in law.

Dorchester County, To wit:   Be it remembered that on this fourteenth
day of June in the year of Our Lord Eighteen hundred and forty eight,
personally appeared John L. Willis and James Higgins, two of the
subscribing Witnesses to the within Bond, before me the subscriber,
one of the Justices of the Peace of the State of Maryland, for
Dorchester County aforesaid, and severally made Oath on the Holy
Evangely of Almighty God, that they did see Kendal M. Jacobs,
Thomas Dail, Levin Mobray and Thomas  H. Hicks, Obligors in
the said Bond, sign, seal and deliver the said Bond as their
respective Act and deed, and that they, the said John L. Willis
and James Higgins did subscribe their names as Witnesses thereto.

State of Maryland                 Be it remembered that the following Bond
50          from     Ex.d           was recorded on the 14.th day of June 1848.
W.m Creighton & others      {Stamp}         Marylan Scts.   Know all Men by these
                                         {Six dollars}      presents that we William Creighton,
John R. Creighton, William Rea and Jeremiah C. Wright of Dorchester
County, are held and firmly bound unto the State of Maryland in the full
and just sum of Fifteen thousand dollars, current money of the United
States, to be paid to the state of Maryland, to the which payment well
and truly to be made and done, we bind ourselves and every of us, and every
of our heirs, executors and Administrators, in the whole & for the whole,
jointly and severally, firmly by these presents.  Sealed with our seals and
dated this day of June in the year of Our Lord one thousand eight
hundred and forty eight.
   
                                           The Conditions are such that if
the above bounden William Creighton shall well & faithfully
discharge the duties of Treasurer of the Primary Schools of
Dorchester County according to law, then the above Obligation
