AN ACT concerning

County Transportation Bonds - Notification
of Participation

FOR the purpose of changing the date by which a county must
notify the Department of Transportation in order to
participate in the proceeds of sale of certain bonds;
and providing that the Department may extend the date;
and making this Act an emergency measure.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

SECTION. 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Annotated Code of Maryland
read(s) as follows:

Article - Transportation

3-304;

(a)  Any county in this State may participate in the
proceeds of the sale of bonds issued under this subtitle.

(b)  On or before [April 1] JUNE 1 of each year, a
county that desires to participate shall notify the
Department of:

(1)   Its desire to participate in the proceeds of
a series of bonds to be issued in the next fiscal year; and

(2)  The proposed amount of its participation.

(C) THE DEPARTMENT MAY EXTEND THE DATE FOR
NOTIFICATION WHEN APPROPRIATE.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act

shall take effect June 1, 1982.

hereby declared to be an emergency measure and necessary for
the immediate preservation of the public health and safety
