(9) The privilege of registering as a farm truck shall be available
only to Class E motor vehicles within a chassis weight of more than
¾ ton [and not exceeding 6,000 pounds], as enumerated hereinabove.
Except as particularly provided otherwise, the provisions of law as
to Class E, pneumatic tire motor vehicles in general shall apply also
to Class E, pneumatic tire farm trucks.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1966.

CHAPTER 444
(House Bill 318)

AN ACT to add new Section 42A of Article 26 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland, (1957 Edition and 1965 Supplement), title
"Courts," subtitle "Circuit Courts for the Counties—Court Stenog-
raphers," to follow immediately after Section 42 of said Article
26, to designate the senior resident judge of Montgomery County
as the administrative judge of the Circuit Court for Montgomery
County and denning the duties thereof.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Section 42A of Article 26 of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1957 Edition and 1965 Supplement), title "Courts," subtitle
"Circuit Courts for the Counties—Court Stenographers," to follow
immediately after Section 42 of said Article 26, be and it is hereby
enacted to read as follows:

42A.

The senior resident judge of the sixth judicial circuit residing in
Montgomery County shall be the administrative judge of the Circuit
Court of Montgomery County, who shall, in addition to directing the
business of the court, prepare its budget, direct the selection of
jurors in conformance with the law, name the foreman of the Grand
Jury for each term of court, assign cases to be tried by the other
resident judges of Montgomery County, be responsible for the court
calendar and the prompt disposition of litigation before it. No

resident judge of Montgomery County shall hear cases in other jur-

isdictions except under the order of the Chief Judge of the Court of

Appeals of Maryland, or the senior resident judge of Montgomery

County-: All equipment and supplies shall be ordered on the author-
ity of the senior resident judge who shall be responsible for the
employment, discharge, and classification of Court personnel and
the maintenance of personnel files-,
PROVIDED, HOWEVER, THAT
EACH JUDGE OF THE 6TH JUDICIAL CIRCUIT RESIDENT
IN MONTGOMERY COUNTY SHALL, SUBJECT TO BUDGET
LIMITATIONS, HAVE THE RIGHT TO HIRE AND DISCHARGE
