Mr. Jarrett presented a petition for a bridge over Little
Creek;

Which was referred to the Harford county delegation.

Mr. Smith, of Carroll, presented the petition of Joseph M.
Palmer, asking compensation for professional services in the trial
of certain criminal cases;                                           

Which was referred to the Committee on Claims.

Mr. Abbott presented the memorial of James Murry and Henry
R. Hazelhurst, that they may be heard before the Appeal Tax
Court of Baltimore city;

Which was referred to the Baltimore city delegation.

Mr. Carper presented a petition from sundry citizens of Fred-
erick county asking for an act by the Legislature authorizing
them to elect an additional magistrate in Jackson District;

Which was referred to tile Committee on Judiciary.

Mr. Lester presented a petition from Edward Chamberlaine
and 27 other citizens of Baltimore, opposed to the erection of a
bridge across the Patapsco river;

Which was referred to a special committee composed of the
Baltimore city and Anne Arundel county delegations.

Mr. Parker presented a petition from George M. Upshur and
others of Worcester county, praying for the passage of an act to
provide for a uniform system of registration of Births, Marriages
and Deaths in this State;

Which was referred to a Special Committee composed of
Messrs. Parker, Smith of Worcester and Miller.                     

Leave was granted to Mr. Valiant to introduce a bill for the
relief of the trustees of the Frederick Female Seminary;

Which was referred to the Committee on Lotteries.

Leave was granted to Mr. Daniel to introduce a bill to fix the
per diem of the County Commissioners, Judges of the Orphans'
Court and Trustees of the Poor of Somerset county;

Which was referred to the Somerset county delegation.

Mr. Lester submitted the following order which was read and
adopted:

Ordered, That the use of this Hall be given to the Rev. John
Baar, agent of the Maryland State Bible Society, to hold a public
meeting in the same for the benefit of said society, on Tuesday eve-
ning next.                                                                     

Mr. Tower submitted the following order, which was deter-
mined in the negative;
