SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1943.

CHAPTER 645.
(House Bill 727)

AN ACT to add a new section to Article 89B of the Code of
Public General Laws of Maryland (1939 Edition), title
"State Roads", said new section to be known as Section 4B,
and to follow immediately after Section 4A of said Article,
and to authorize the State Roads Commission of Maryland
to receive and any county, municipality, district, commis-
sion, or any other agency, instrumentality or political sub-
division of the State to give, lease or transfer to said Com-
mission, such portion of any publicly owned real or per-
sonal property as may be needed by said Commission in the
construction or improvement of any public highway of the
State.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That a new section be and it is hereby added to Article
89B of the Code of Public General Laws of Maryland (1939
Edition), title "State Roads", said new section to be known
as Section 4B, to follow immediately after Section 4A of said
Article, and to read as follows:

4B. Any county, municipality, district, commission or any
agency, instrumentality, or political subdivision of this State
is hereby authorized and empowered, notwithstanding any
contrary provisions of law, to transfer jurisdiction over, to
lease, lend, grant or convey, to the State for the use of the
State Roads Commission, and at the request of such Commis-
sion, upon such terms and conditions as the proper authorities
of any such county, municipality, district, commission, agency,
instrumentality or political subdivision may agree with the
Commission are reasonable and fair, such publicly owned real
or personal property, or any portion thereof, as may be neces-
sary or desirable in the establishment, construction or im-
provement by said Commission of any public road, highway,
parkway, freeway or motorway, irrespective of whether any
such real or personal property is then, or is intended to be,
used for any other public purpose. Whenever any such real or
personal property is held in the name of the State of Mary-
land for the use of any such agency, instrumentality, district,
