1. That the Philadelphia, Baltimore and Washington Rail-
road Company be and it is hereby authorized to build, maintain
and operate as a part of its railroad a bridge adequate for two
or more tracks across the Susquehanna river, between Havre
de Grace, in Harford County, and Perryville, in Cecil County,
in the State of Maryland, to be located as the Board of Di-
rectors of said company shall determine and by resolution
prescribe, but such location shall be north of and not more
than three hundred and fifty feet distant from the existing
railroad bridge belonging to the said railroad company, cross-
ing said river between Havre de Grace and Perryville; the
said bridge hereby authorized shall be constructed generally
according to such plans as the Board of Directors of said com-
pany shall approve and by resolution prescribe, but the same
shall be constructed and at all times be maintained with a
pivot draw, having an opening of not less than one hundred
feet in width on each side of the pivotal pier for the passage
of vessels, suitably located to accommodate navigation of said
Susquehanna river, and so as to afford a clear space between
the underside of said draw and the waters of said river at mean
high water tide of not less than fifty feet; the said draw shall
be property lighted at night to permit the passage of vessels,
and shall be operated at all times by and at the expense of said
railroad company; and there shall also be anchored a buoy a
reasonable distance from the end of the pier above, and one
such also at a reasonable distance from the pier below, as
mooring buoys to be used by vessels passing through said
draw.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That Section 2 of
Chapter 542 of the Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland
of 1908, as the same was amended by Chapter 257 of the Acts
of the General Assembly of Maryland of 1933, be and the
same is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, so
as to read as follows:

2. That when the said bridge shall be by the said
Philadelphia, Baltimore and Washington Railroad Company
put in suitable condition for use as a bridge for vehicular and
pedestrian traffic, and shall have been by the said company
transferred and conveyed as authorized by the preceding sec-
tion, that therefrom and thereafter the said railroad company
shall be absolutely relieved of and discharged from all the
obligations and duties imposed upon it by Sections 4 and 5
of Chapter 116 of the said Acts of 1904, except, nevertheless,
that the said company shall thereafter be obliged and re-
quired on each day to stop at its passenger stations in Havre
de Grace and Perryville, respectively, at least seven (7) pas-
