FRANK BROWN, ESQUIRE, GOVERNOR.

by any police officer of the city of Annapolis, of any criminal
matter requiring prompt attention, the said justices of the
peace shall attend at their respective offices at such other hours
on every day or at night (Sundays and legal holidays included)
as the public interest may require; and neither of the said
justices of the peace shall absent himself from Annapolis
without having first arranged with the other of said justices
that he will be in attendance at his office as required by law
during such absence, -nor shall either of said justices be absent
from Annapolis for more than two days consecutively at any
time without the written authority of the State's Attorney of
Anne Arundel county, or of the mayor of the city of
Annapolis.

SEC. 2. Be it enacted, That this act shall take effect from
the date of its passage.

Approved April 6th, 1894.

CHAPTER 373.

AN ACT to enable the Comptroller of Maryland to draw his
warrant upon the Treasurer, in favor of the persons pre-
senting the proper vouchers therefor, in payment of the
costs incurred in the suits upon the official bonds of Steven-
son Archer, late Treasurer of Maryland.

Effective.

WHEREAS, Under and by virtue of the provisions of chapter
207 of the acts of the General Assembly of Maryland of the
session of 1892, the sum of twelve hundred and two dollars
and twenty-eight cents was paid into the treasury of the State
of Maryland, by the sureties upon the official bonds of Steven-
son Archer, late Treasurer of Maryland, in satisfaction to the
said State for its custs and charges incurred in the suits upon
said official bonds; and

Preamble

WHEREAS, Said sum remains in the treasury of this State.
for the reason that no act was passed enabling the Comptroller
to draw his warrant upon the Treasurer in favor of the persons
entitled thereto; therefore,

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the Comptroller be and he is hereby author-
ized and directed to draw his warrant upon the Treasurer in
