favor of the persons presenting the proper vouchers for such
costs, for such amounts as may be represented by said vouchers,
the aggregate amount of said warrants not to exceed the said
sum of twelve hundred and two dollars and twenty eight cents.

Effective.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 374.

AN ACT to authorize and empower the County Commission-
ers of St. Mary's County to appropriate or levy a sum of
money to pay the registers of voters of St. Mary's County
for transcribing the names of the voters from the old regis-
tries to the duplicate registries, as required by chapter tive
hundred and seventy-three of the act of eighteen hundred
and ninety.

To pay regis-
ters of
voters.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the County Commissioners of St. Mary's
county be and they are hereby authorized and empowered to
appropriate or levy a sum of money sufficient to pay the regis-
ters of voters of St. Mary's county the sum of four dollars per
diem each, for the actual number of days employed by each of
said registers in transcribing the names of voters from the old
registries to the duplicate registries, as required by chapter five
hundred and and seventy-three of the act of eighteen hundred
and ninety.

Bills to be
presented.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the said registers of voters
shall each be required by the said County Commissioners of St.
Mary's county to present a bill to said County Commissioners,
which shall contain the number of days actually employed by
the said registers in transcribing the said names, as described in
the first section of this act, supported by an affidavit to be
made before some justice of the peace for St. Mary's county.

Effective.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.
