vide for the maintenance thereof,

Being upon its third reading,

On motion by Mr. Lee,
Said bill was referred to the Committee on Finance.

Mr. Stump, from the Committee on Education, (by unani-
mous consent,) reported favorably,

Senate bill entitled an Act to repeal Chapter 377, of the
Acts of 1872, entitled an Act to repeal an Act of 1870,
Chapter 311, entitled an Act to repeal an Act of 1868, Chap-
ter 407, entitled "Public Education," providing a general
system of Free Public Schools for the State of Maryland, and
to repeal all laws inconsistent therewith, and to re-enact the
same with amendments, and to repeal Chapter 473, of the
Acts of 1874, amendatory of the Acts of 1872, Chapter 377,
and to re-enact the said two Acts of 1872, Chapter 377, and
the Act of 1874, Chapter 473, with amendments, so as to
read as follows.

Which was read the first time,

And made the order of the day for Thursday, the 14th
inst., at 1 o'clock.

Senate bill entitled an Act to add two additional Sections
to Article 93, of the Code of Public General Laws, title "Tes-
tamentary Law," sub-title "Orphans' Court,"

Was read the third time, and passed by yeas and nays as
follows :

AFFIRMATIVE.

Messrs. President, Gorman,

Combs, of Allegany, Joyce,

Combs, of St. Mary's, Lancaster,

Cooper, Lee,

Dennis, Peter,

Ford, Steiner,

Franklin, Stump,

Said bill was then sent to the House of Delegates.

Senate bill entitled an Act to authorize the County Com-
missioners, of Dorchester County, to build a bridge over the
Blackwater River, at Shorter's Wharf, in said county,
