additional section to the Public Local Laws of Dorchester
"County, Article 10, and to enact the following sections in
lieu thereof.
With the following proposed amendments.
AMENDMENTS PROPOSED.
After the titling, insert as follows:
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Sections one hundred and fifty-four, to one hun-
dred and eighty-four, inclusive, of Article ten, of the Code of
Public Local Laws, title "Dorchester County," sub-title
''Roads," and Section one hundred and eighty-five, of the
same, as enacted by the Act of eighteen hundred and sixty-
eight, Chapter two hundred and eighty-seven, entitled an
Act to add an additional section to the Public Local Laws
of Dorchester County, be and the same are hereby repealed,
and re-enacted with amendments, so as to read as follows.
In Section 154, after the word "dollars," and before the
word "provided," insert "and costs of conviction."
In same section, after the word "Court" in second line, in-
sert the words "shall have general supervision of the public
roads of said county, and."
In Section 155, after the word "year," in 7th line, strike out
all the words of the section down to the word "provided."
In Section 165, line 7, after the word "the" and before the
word "district," insert the word election ; and in same line
strike out the word "over" and insert in its place the word
"in;" and at end of section add the words "with effect."
Add the following sections:
-Sec. 166. Until the next general election, the County Com-
missioners of said county shall divide the duties herein imposed
among them, and after such election, each of the five Commis-
sisoner elected shall be, and act as general road supervisors of
the Commissioner's district from which he has been elected, or
to which he shall be assigned by his co-Commissioners, and
shall have special supervision of the acts, duties and accounts
of the road supervisors appointed in his said district by the
County Commissioners, as is now, or hereafter may be, pro-
vided by law. It shall be his duty to inspect the roads in
his said Commissioner's district, and report the condition
thereof to the Board of County Commissioners for their ac-
tion in the premises. No road bill from his district shall be
passed by the County Commissioners, until he shall have
examined and reported on the same. It shall be his duty to
notify the several road supervisors of his said district of such
