On motion of Mr. Sams, it was
Ordered, That Mr. Moore be excused from attend-
ance on to-day's session, on account of absence on
committee work.
On motion of Mr. Gaver, it was
Ordered, That Mr. Sappington, of Frederick, be
excused from to-day's session.
On motion of Mr. Wilkinson, it was
Ordered, That Mr. Hayman be excused from at-
tendance on to-day's and to-night's session of the
House.
Mr. Brashears submitted the following order, viz :
Ordered, That James Goodwin be appointed for the
month of March to attend to the heating apparatus in
the different rooms, called steam heaters, at $2 per
day.
Which was read, and referred to the Committee on
Public Buildings,
On motion of Mr. Wilkinson, it was
Ordered, That the State Librarian place 25 copies of
the State Constitution in the Speaker's room for the
use of the members of the House.

LEAVES TO INTRODUCE BILLS.
On motion of Mr. Carr,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Ways and
Means to introduce a bill entitled an Act to repay
to Chas. Simon, Jr., and Adolph Simon, executors of
the last will and testament of Johanna M. Simon, late
of Baltimore city, deceased, taxes paid by Mrs.
Johanna M. Simon in her lifetime in error.
On motion of Mr. Brashears,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Claims to
introduce a bill entitled an Act to appropriate a sum
of money to pay the claim of Lemuel J. Mitchell, for
services rendered the State of Maryland.
On motion of Mr. Wallen,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Labor to
introduce a bill entitled an Act to protect and make
sure laborers wages.
