introduce a bill to amend the Act of 1867, chapter 309, enti-
tled an Act to incorporate the North. Branch Company.

On motion of Mr. Stewart, of Howard,

Leave was granted to the Select Committee Jn that subject
to introduce a bill to form anew county out of parts of Prince
George's, Anne Arundel, Montgomery and Howard counties,
and to add a part of Baltimore county to Howard county.

On motion of Mr. Turner, of Baltimore county,

At 11 1/2 o'clock, A. M., the House took a recess until
1 o'clock, P. M., to witness a Review by His Excellency the
Governor, of the Sixth Regiment, Maryland National Guards,
in accordance with acceptance of invitation on Friday last.

At 1 o'clock, P. M., the House resumed its session.

Mr. Lee, from the Committee on the Judiciary, reported
favorably,

A bill entitled an Act to repeal sections 5 and 7, of Article
10, of the Code of Public General Laws, entitled "Attach-
ments," and to re-enact the same with amendments.

Which was read a first time.

Mr. Brace, from the Committee on the Judiciary, reported
favorably,

A bill entitled an Act to add a new section to Article 30, of
the Code of Public General Laws, title "Crimes and Punish-
ments," sub-title "Rivers," to come after section 170, and to
be called "170 a."

Which was read a first time.

Mr. Bird, Chairman of a Select Committee, reported favor-
ably,

A bill entitled an Act to lepeal section 72, of Article 5, of
the Code of Public Local Laws, entitled "Calvert County,"
sub-title "Sheriff," and to re-enact the same with amend-
ments.

Which was read a first time.

Mr. Brace, Chairman of a Select Committee, reported
favorably,

A bill entitled an Act to repeal sections 1 and 2, of the
Code of Public Local Laws, entitled "Allegany County,"
sub-title "Almshouse."

Which was read a first time.

Mr. Leonard, Chairman of a Select Committee, reported
