The bill was read the second time, and ordered to be engrossed for a third reading. Mr. Moore, from Committee on Corporations, reported favorably, with proposed amendments, Senate bill No. 20, entitled "An Act to add a new sec- tion to Article 23, of the Code of Public General Laws, title ‘Corporations,' sub-title ‘Railroads,' to follow section 177, and to be designated as ‘Section 177 A.'" AMENDMENTS PROPOSED. Add after the word "Maryland," at the end of 177 A, the following: "And further provided, That nothing in this Act shall apply to the Baltimore, Chesapeake & Atlantic Railway Company, nor to any of its branches or leased lines, nor to the Baltimore and Sparrow's Point Railroad Com- pany." In line 20, printed bill, after the word "existing” in- sert as follows: "which are owned, operated and lying wholly in the State of Maryland, and." In line 1, printed bill, after the word "railroad," insert as follows: "Owned, operated, FURTHER AMENDMENT PROPOSED. By Mr. Moses, Strike out on line 4, of the printed bill, the words "lying wholly," and substitute in their place the word |
