which goes down in the Gallies; beyond what will compleat
the Molly's Load, you will load the General Smallwood and
proceed with her to the Address of Mr Harrison at Martinico.
If we should not be able to send the whole of the 20 Hhds, or
if the General Smallwood will take more than the 20 Hhds and
the Surplus of the Flour, we would have you purchase what is
deficient of Tobacco or any Thing else, which can be conven-
iently and speedily got. We expect Mr Harrison will, if he
can, furnish you with a Load of Salt back and, on your Re-
turn, we wish you to get into the Bay, but we do not intend
to tie you up so, but that you may use your Discretion to
make an Inlet, in Case you think attempting the Bay is too
hazardous.

In Council Annapolis 19th May 1778.
Sir
Joseph Williams has complained to us of your getting his
Son, a Boy of 14 Years old, fudled and obtaining his Mark
to an Enlistment and that you have since sold him as a Sub-
stitute to Mr Nichs Gassaway. We are desirous of enquiring
into this Matter, it is our Duty to do so and, to enable us to
it with Justice, we desire to see you to-morrow in the fore Part of
Day. If any Person was present at the Transaction who will
tend to prove it fair, you had better prevail on him to come
with you. We are &ca

Ordered that the Commissary of Stores deliver to Capt.
Gordon sundry Cloathing for his Men of the Conqueror
Galley per list sent.
That the Western shore Treasurer pay to Samuel Hanson
Esqr sixty eight Pounds, seventeen shillings & seven Pence
p ace' passed by the A. G.
That the said Treasurer Pay to Charles Williamson one
hundred and seventy six pounds, thirteen shillings & eight
Pence to be delivered over to Capt. Thomas Cleland due his
Compy of Militia whilst in actual Service per Pay roll exam-
ined & Passed by the A General.
That the said Treasurer Pay to Capt. John Burgess ninteen
Pounds two shillings & eleven Pence due to him & Part of his
