Robardet, James, a fencing master from Philadelphia, advertised he would open a dancing school in the Annapolis Assembly rooms (AMG 17 May 1792).

By July 1794 he had moved to Easton where he advertised he would open a dancing school. He stated he had taught in Philadelphia and New York, and had had the honor of the patronage of Mrs. Washington's grandchildren, and had taught for two seasons in Baltimore and Annapolis. If enough people in Cambridge or in QA Co. would wish him to establish a school he would attend for two days in each of those places as well (Easton Maryland Herald 2 July, 3 Sep 1793, 12 April 1794).
In Jan 1794 he advertised he had opened his dancing school at John Starck's, and he has also opened an evening school. A Practicing Ball will be given Sat., 25th inst. Ladies are gratefully admitted. Gentlemen's tickets, half a dollar, may be had at the door (Balto. Daily Intelligencer 22 Jan 1794).
