The material in this collection grew out of my research for my master's dissertation in 1973/4. Since then the material has grown. On this site I am entering a list of those individuals who have been identified as teachers, with the county and the dates they were known to have been teaching. If I have found additional information  about the teacher's status on arrival in Maryland, family data, property owned, other activities, or death and probate records, I have created a link to that data. As additional information about the teacher's life is found, it will be entered. I welcome additional information about the individuals named here.
