A convict who has been in this country
for several years, and "pretends to be a schoolmaster" was advertised as
a runaway servant by John Metcalfe (AMG 26 April 1753). He must be the
Edward Meachem of Middlesex who was sentenced in February and transported
in March 1731 on the Patapsco. He was given a landing certificate for Annapolis
in June 1731 (CBEB:542).
Family: He married Ann [-?-] by 15 May 1743, when their son Thomas
was born in St. Paul's Parish (BAPA 1:15).
