Property: His father is said to have
left him one-half of his dwelling plantation, Morley Gray.

Financial affairs: On 9 May 1764 Linthicum was listed as a
debtor in the admin. account of Samuel Gaither of AA Co. (MDAD 51:40).

Estate: He died by 3 April 1769, when
Sarah Linthicum, admx., filed an account of his estate. She cited inventories
of £176.15.4 and £18.9.1, and made payments of £74.15.9
(MDAD 61:258). Another account, showing payments of £38.17.9,
was filed by Sarah Linthicum on 9 March 1770 (MDAD 62:424).

Family: He was a son of Hezekiah and Milcah [-?-] Linthicum, and
grandson of Thomas and Jane [-?-] Linthicum, and was b. 7 Nov 1723. He
m. Sarah Bateman, b. 11 May 1713, d. 1778, dau. of Henry and Sarah (Powell)
Bateman ("The Linthicum Family of Anne Arundel County, Maryland, and Branches,"
MG
2:160). He or another Hezekiah Linthicum m. by 23 Nov 1752, Elizabeth,
dau. of Capt. John Welsh of AA Co. (MDAD 33:186). "The Linthicum Family"
shows that Hezekiah Linthicum was the father of (MG 1:180): RACHEL, probably
the Miss Linthicum, dau. of Hezekiah Linthicum, drowned Sunday, on the
South River (AMG 2 July 1767); ELIZABETH, m. William Bateman; JOHN; ARCHIBALD,
d. in infancy; SLINGSBY, d. 28 June 1848, married twice; ABNER, b. 7 July
1763, d. 1847. Member of the Maryland Legislature 1812 to 1826, and Capt.
in the 22nd Regiment during the War of 1812. He m. Rachel Jacob; MARGARET;
and AMASA, m. 1790, Sarah Johnson.
