Lake, Rev. Charles, of AA Co., was inducted as incumbent of St. Anne's Annapolis on 7 October 1740 (SAVP: MHM 8:357). He served at St. Anne's to September 1743, and then served at St. James from 1749 until his death in 1763. He kept a school (Rightmyer, Maryland's established Church, p. 196). Rev. John Bowie attended this school (MHM 38:142; Potts:90).
