Charlett, John, (MSA SC5300-70), was in Annapolis by 10 Aug 1748 when he gave notice he intended going to England with the present shipping. Later Charles Cole stated that John Charlett was his servant and had not served his time. Charlett advertised he would teach reading, writing and arithmetic at Mrs. Jenning's house near Severn Ferry (AMG 10 Aug 1748, 26 Oct 1748, 15 March 1759).

• Other activities: On 21 March 1753 he witnessed the will of Charles Cole of Annapolis (MWB 30:511).
• Financial Status: On 13 July 1756 John Charlett, at Mr. Cole's, was taxed as a bachelor worth £100-300 (SAVP: MHM 9:288).
• Family: John Charlotte and Anne, widow of Isaac Richards, were married on 13 Aug 1762 in St. Anne's Parish (AACR:104).
