  • Virginia.. This map is based on the Augustine Herrman map of 1673, but like the Thornton and Greene and Morden derivatives is oriented with north at the top. It was in Jonas Moore's A New Georgraphy..., which was part 8 of his A New System of the Mathematicks,1681. 1681. MSA SC 1399-1-613 [HFC 181M3]
