Homann, Johann Baptist

  • Virginia, Marylandia et Carolina in America Septentrionali Britannorum industria excultae repraesentatae a Ioh. Bapt. Homann S.C.M. geog. Norimbergae.. This map is significant, not because of its cartography, which was outdated, but because of its cartouche. It was an attempt to encourage immigration by Germans to America. There is disagreement about the sequence of states, but the map was popular. 1714?. MSA SC 1399-1-193 [HFC 214H5]
