Directions to the Archives

Request an appointment so that our staff can best assist you. Appointments are strongly encouraged. Benefits include: no wait time for help or for a workspace, ability to quickly ask an Archivist any questions, and most importantly a guarantee that your record will be on site.Visitors may also walk-in without an appointment.

The Maryland State Archives is located at 350 Rowe Boulevard, Annapolis, MD 21401.
It is a 3-story red-brick building with "Hall of Records" over the entrance.
It is located directly across from the Court of Appeals Building.

From Baltimore:

I - 97 South to U.S. 50/301 East
Exit 24, Route 70 - Rowe Blvd. Bear right at bottom of ramp onto Rowe Blvd.
The second traffic light will be at the intersection of Taylor Avenue and Rowe Boulevard.
Go straight through the intersection and within 50 feet look for a little break in the median strip on the left. (If you go over a creek bridge, then you’ve gone too far)
Turn left into our parking lot - we are the large brick building with the U.S. and Maryland flags out front.

From Washington, D.C.:

U.S. 50/301 East
Exit 24, Route 70 - Rowe Blvd. Bear right at bottom of ramp onto Rowe Blvd.

From the Eastern Shore:

U.S. 50/301 West
