Fled from Slavery, Dorchester County, Maryland, 1857
Biography:
Levin Parker successfully escaped Cambridge, Maryland in
Dorchester
County at the age of 22. He fled to Canada with fellow slaves William
Griffen, Noah
Ennells, James
Camper, and Henry
Moor. He was
previously owned by Lawrence G. Colson. Though little is known
about his life after escape, Parker did reach Philadelphia,
Pennsylvania, and was aided there by individuals connected with the
Underground
Railroad.
