Tapping Technology

Introduction of new Editor of "Tapping Technology".

Hello Readers! I'd like to take a brief moment to introduce myself to the readers of "Tapping Technology," as the new editor of the newsletter. My name is Lori Janis and I am working with MD TAP as a new full-time employee as well as being a part-time graduate student in the Publications Design program at the University of Baltimore. I look forward to working with the MD TAP team, who dedicate hours and interests to bringing the public informative, educational news on assistive technology. As I undertake this new venture, I'd like to share my goals with the readers and hear feedback on what readers would most like to learn and be informed of.

With the publication of the December issue, I would like to create a section called "Art Tech," in which news of Maryland art events, audio descriptive plays and operas, and poetry readings geared toward the infusion of disabilities, technology, and the arts are featured. With the constant trends and changes in the world of technology, I will do my best to keep readers as up-to-date as possible on current products, events, and concerns. With this in mind, I would also like to create a "Letters to the Editor" section in which readers can write to me about anything-from topics they would like to see covered to sharing information on events, products, books, etc. I also encourage questions and suggestions- it would be wonderful to be in constant communication with the reader base and always have some feedback on "Tapping Technology." So please feel free to send comments and more to: editor@mdtap.org

As a new year will soon begin, I look forward to bringing informative, interesting news on assistive technology, as well as hearing from readers on their own interests and hopes for "Tapping Technology."

Thank you!
Lori Janis
