File List Columns


The file list pane can have any of the following columns displayed:

Name Name of the file e.g. to_do.txt.
If the item is itself a folder, then the name will always be <Folder>
Folder The path name of the fold containing the file.  (e.g. c:\windows\)
If the item itself is a folder then this will be its path.
Extension The characters after the last dot in the file name.  (e.g. htm for filelist.htm)
Modified Time The last time the file was changed in some way (as of the time it was indexed).
Size The size in bytes of the file (as of the time it was indexed).
Rank Roughly the number of times that the search target words appear in the file.
Attributes File system attributes. A character will appear to designate that the corresponding attribute is set.  (e.g. hr would indicate a hidden readonly file)

The attributes characters are:

a - archive bit is set
c - compressed file (NT file system only)
d - directory
s - the file is a system file
h - the file is a hidden file
r - the file is a read only file

Volume The volume label of the disk the file is on.

You select which columns are to be selected with the View/Columns menu after clicking in the file list pane. You can rearrange the order the columns are displayed by dragging the header labels in the file list pane to the desired position. The columns can be resized by dragging the borders between the header labels.
